The setting is in an urban environment that is very harsh. It takes place in the streets, a school, and an auditorium. All of them play an important part of this vieo.
The main character and protagonis in this video is the deaf girl who learns how to play the violin. She is young and just learning how to play the violin. It is hard for her though because she cannot hear the music, so she does not know if she is performing right. She learns from a man on the street though how to play and know that she was doing it right. She was very focused and never let her antagonist bring her down.
The antagonist is the girl who kept telling her that she was wasting her time and other people’s time as well. She did not want the other girl to be able to play the violin because she knew she would beat her in the talent contest.
The internal conflict in this video is in the deaf girl. She gets down about learning to play the violin and then doesn’t want to learn how to play any more because the other girl keeps putting her down. The external conflict is the other girl opposing the deaf girl. She doesnt want her to play the violin because she knows the other girl will be better than her and win the contest.
The irony is that the girl’s violin is destroyed, but she puts it back together and comes back and performs against the other girl and does really well.
The climax is when the man got mugged and they destroyed the girl’s violin.
The theme is that you should never give up no matter who is trying to put you down.
The lyre bird is an amazing creature. I have never heard an animal like that bird. I have heard quite a few birds that can say words and mimic sounds, but that bird mimicked the most sounds of any bird I have ever heard. It is unbelievable how well that bird is able to mimic the sounds of anything it hears, including human noises and machinery. That is just amazing to me. Not only can it do one tone, but it can do two at a time, making this bird more distinguished than any other bird I know of. It is incredible for an animal to be able to do that.
Civilization has changed the way many things live. It has changed the way we live in unaccountable ways. It has also changed the way and places that animals live. Civilization has taken away many of the natural habitats for some animals to live, causing them to be extinct or endangered. This is terrible for them. We know what happens when we keep building and moving into new lands, but yet people still want to do it. I understand why they want to, but they may not realize the danger it can or will cause the animals that inhabit that area. It may help the animals in some ways, but it will more likely cause problems for the animals that live there. It would be a benefit for us and them to try and control where we build, what we build, and how we build things if we want to keep animals alive. If we don’t then letting the building continue, but this probably won’t happen.
The media has devastated the perception of a healthy person. They think that a healthy person should have minimal body fat, muscles that are not overwhelming, good figure, and taller. This perception has driven many women to become anorexic or bulimic. These are two diseases that people may have that they try to use in order to get the perfect image the media wants. It is very unhealthy for them to do this. It could kill them if it gets to severe. The media does not think about this, only the perfect body image. When a case comes up about some one being anorexic they jump on it and say its unhealthy. They are right, but they are also the ones who cause these things to happen. People are selfconcious of thier bodies and do not want others to see them in some way in which people will think they are unhealthy. Its a sad reality but it happens all the time.
This article is about self-image. It is saying that we as people have let this media pressure go on too long. We need to step in and take action to stop the problem that is progressively getting worse. If we do not then it will just continue and get to a point where the people will not have a choice but to react. The writers of this article want us as a people to stop talkng and act NOW. They want to help out the women who are being turned away for having a normal body, but the modeling agencies see their bodies as unsuitable for modeling. These women then try to do whatever they can to get the body the agencies want. This is what they are trying to stop. They do not want to see this happening because it is ruining lives, and the perception of a normal body. The media does not realize what they are doing. They just want to market and make money and they do not care how they do it as long as it is done.
Some elements that set the mood in this video are the speechlessness, the wind blowing, and the urban environment. The quiet makes it kind of awkward but yet interesting at the same time. The wind adds another element to the intensity of the situation. The urban environment makes it seem like a real life situatioin, although it is really not. A theme for this video would be do not try to get something you long for because you may end up having something that you did not ever want to happen happening. The moral of the story is be happy with what you already have and do not try to get more than you can possibly get. I think this video shows a good example of what happens when you get greedy. You get want you want and you want more of it. Wanting more of it leads you into trouble that you never thought would happen. To prevent this from happening, you should be happy with what you already have.
If I had a pencil like that, I would give my family members whatever it was that they wanted or needed. I would think of them first and try to help them get what they desired. Then I would draw myself a nice, big house. I would also draw myself the nicest and fanciest car I could find as well, and of course it would be fast. I would also draw myself a big private lake that I could have all to myself and my family. Then, once i had those items, I would draw myself a lot of money. Cake would be the last thing I would think about drawing.
This exercise will really open your eyes to how people are judged by the way they look. People will judged other peoples’ ethnicity based on their looks, but really they may not be of the ethnicity that the person thinks they are. Looks are very deceiving and cause people to be judged wrongly. People are prejudice and will say they hate certain races of people. Then they will judge people themselves and may misjudge someone. That person they judge may not be of the race the other thinks they are and may get offended by being judged by looks. Society is not fair with the way people are judged and the way people judge other people.
I got seven right. I placed the people based on skin color, hair style, and facial shape. This is the way most people judge others, whether it be fair or unfair. I found that this was a rather difficult exercise because the people I thought were of one race were really of another. It was a big eye opener to realize that even though people may look of one ethnicity, they may of another instead. It will definitely make me slower in judging the race of others for sure from now on until I know for sure of their real race.
I used to love to read, but as I have grown older I have lost interest in reading much. When I do read i prefer to read Westerns by authors like Louis L’Amour. I will be reading Farewell to Arms first. I am reading it first because of the three I currently have it is the longest one. I plan to read one book about every two weeks. If I do this Iwill be able to finish all my books and assignments in a moderate time. The only time I really like to read is when we are deer hunting. Sitting in a stand for 4 to 5 hours can be very boring. I often found myself dozing off while hunting. Then I started carrying a book with me and I would read for a little while until I wanted a break. This made time go by faster and kept me awake, and some times I would get so interested in the book that I would not want to stop reading. The books I would read were Westerns so they would have quite of bit of action to keep me interested.
I think using a blog as a venue for expressing yourself is both good and bad. It is good because you can express yourself and others can also comment on whether or not they agree with what you think or not. It is bad because you may experience trouble posting a blog or have technical problems viewing other blogs. I have never used a blog before for anything, so this will be my first time. I really do not know what to expect with this kind of assignment because I have never ventured into anything that involved using a blog or chat to do an assignment. However, I do think that it will have its benefits and its downfalls due to controversial reasons. In a way I kind of look forward to it because I have never done anything like this before, but I also dread it because I do not really know what to expect with it. I sincerely hope for the best though.
